Well, they do say that a good hero needs a cape! Now you and yours can show off your heroic style in a Little Bo Peep cape costume from Toy Story. Who knew that Little Bo Peep dress would turn into such a fantastic cape!? But, once her sheep went a-wandering, it was time to get serious. Of course, her first incarnation included a pretty prim and proper gal with a shepherd crook and a precious dress. All you'll need to do is decide which kind of tale you want to tell. We have styles that fit both the Bavarian stories that gave birth to Bo as well as her more famous tales from Toy Story. Now it is time for you to lead the pack by climbing into one of our Little Bo Peep costumes. But she really showed up in prime time when Woody later found her as the leader of a whole crew of abandoned toys at the circus! Keeping everyone happy and feeling like they'd found a new home was a perfect ending to this sheep-herding superhero! And it is no wonder that this character turned into one of the most heartfelt ones in Pixar's Toy Story! She seemed to be little more than a light fixture in Andy's sister's room as well as Woody's very best gal. It's a pretty sweet story of loving your pets. She hunted them down only to discover that they'd somehow lost their tails! Knowing that must be pretty tragic, she managed to find and sew them all back together. She was watching over her flock until a mild distraction had all her sheep running over to the next hill. If you only came to know of Bo Peep from one version of her story, there is a lot to be told! This Shepherd hero started out as a Nursery Tale character. Press the ribbon in place (Image 4).Whether the love of Nursery Rhymes brought you in search of Little Bo Peep costumes or if you were out on an adventure to find the hero of Toy Story fans everywhere, you've found the next step in your story! Who would have thought that a gal who lost a bunch of sheep would ever inspire such a following? It turns out that her persistence and shepherding style are plenty to get us to join the fold, though.
Lay them over both edges of the rows of ribbon along with a matching length of hemming tape. Cut two pieces of ribbon long enough to cover the ends on the ribbon. Repeat until you have enough lace ribbon to fill in the chest area (Image 3). Place another piece of hemming tape underneath and press in place (Image 2). Lay another 4-inch length of ribbon underneath the first, slightly overlapping the bottom of the previous ribbon. Make sure the iron is not too hot, for this may cause the lace to melt. Lay the hemming tape underneath and lightly press with an iron on a low heat setting. Center the ribbon in the middle of the chest. The goal is to leave about 2 inches of space between the ends of the ribbon and the edge of the shirt.
Cut the lace ribbon in 4-inch lengths (longer if the shirt is larger). However, you can hand stitch or sew instead of using the tape (Image 1). Also, I used hemming tape to make this project easier. You will need the eyelet trim in both blue and white. Follow the directions given by the dye's manufacturer. However, I used aquamarine fabric dye to color a white tee, leggings and a yard of the cotton eyelet trim into a matching blue. If you are able to find a tee and leggings in that color, then go for it. Bo Peep's outfit is primarily light blue.
